GENERAL ADVICE ON HELMET USE

Your helmet has been specially designed and developed in the Hedon workshop to make sure it protects you in the best possible way. Please read the following instructions carefully before using your helmet.Keep these instructions in a safe place for future reference when maintaining your helmet.

• The box in which your helmet has been delivered ensures that it has been protected from impacts since it was manufactured, provided such box is not damaged.

• To provide adequate protection, the helmet must fit correctly on your head and be well fastened. (Please see Fig1.1 below on how to securely fasten your helmet) It should be snug and comfortable.

• Never wear a helmet too far back on your head. (Please see Fig1.2) To protect you properly, it must cover your forehead. Always secure the buckle tightly to keep your helmet firmly placed whenever you ride. In any case, before starting off, make sure that the buckle is secure and tight.

• With the helmet on and the straps fastened and pulled tight, try to remove the helmet from your head. Grasp it securely and make a serious effort to roll it off your head by moving it forwards and backwards. If you cannot remove this helmet, it does not roll backward far enough to expose your forehead or forward enough to block your vision, you have a proper fit.

• It is not safe if a helmet is improperly fitted or fastened on the head as the helmet may “roll off” the head in a collision or at any time.

• Avoid prolonged exposure to strong sunlight as this may affect the paint work. If the helmet has sustained an impact, even if there are no signs of damage, replace it immediately.• If the visor is marked «day time use only», users shouldn’t use it at night or in any condition with poor visibility.

CARE & CLEANING

• When cleaning any visor, only use warm water and neutral soap. Never use window Cleaning products. DO NOT use any solvents. Note that with each and every clean it will affect the fog and scratch resistant on the visor. In order to keep all parts of the helmets in their best conditions, use a wet cloth to clean the chinstrap and other relevant areas.

• Never apply paints, stickers, petrol or other chemical solvents to the helmet and visor.

• For cleaning the lining of your motorcycle helmet, use a clean damp cloth with some soap and have a good wipe all over the lining, scrubbing lightly on the areas you would like to be cleaned. Then leave it to dry completely before you wear it.

• For the cleaning of the matte helmet surfaces - Usually water and neutral soap will suffice for cleaning the surface of the helmet but for more stubborn stains 100% cleaning alcohol and evenly applied pressure from a micro fibre cloth is quite effective.

• For glossy helmet surfaces - Water and neutral soap with a micro fibre cloth will suffice. For a good polish you can use car wax as all our helmets are painted with the same painting and techniques of automobiles.

• For hardware maintenance - If you are tired of the oxidised look of some of the hardware on your helmet you can polish them with a mixture of lemon and salt and gently rub all over the surfaces of the hardware. For the EPICURIST and HEROINE screws make sure to remove the screws from the helmet for polishing and to make sure they are secured correctly and firmly back on the helmet after.

• For leather maintenance - you can apply leather conditioner or shoe polish for richer colour and protection.

• For the lining of the motorcycle helmets, use a cloth damp with some warm soapy water and wipe the down the surface for dirt and then let it completely dry before puttting it back on.

• For the lining of the Ebike helmets, This lining is removable. Remove it and handwash delicately in a basin without soaking the leather pieces. let it dry completely before putting it back on.
